I perfomed the "Red River Valley" when I was twelve on an Autoharop just before taking my first guitar lesson from John Allen a very versatile thespian and musician.  He also introduced me to Shakespeare with his performance in "Julius Ceaser."

I know it is not a Folk song as such but I included "Ain't She Sweet" because that was the first song that I wanted to learn.

Most of the Folk songs were learned in High School during the sixties.  I was blessed with going to High School in Laramie, Wyoming where folk music was very much alive at the University and around the State.  I was fortunate enough to get to go to Jackson Hole during the summer a few times and join in the Teton Tea parties held in climbers camp.  These were put on by a man by the name of Bill Briggs who was himself a very good performer from Montana.  Around the campfire at night we would pass instruments around and play songs.  Some very obscure and some not.

Many of the songs that I remember are songs that I have on this page.  I have also included some other songs from my early repertoire that are not neccesarily folk but in the same vein.
